Dr. Thomas J. Clifford

1921-2009

In Memory of a Great Leader, Mentor, and Friend

Dr. Thomas J. Clifford rarely said "no"! Especially if he was asked to GiveBack his time, talent, or treasure to advance an idea that would benefit his beloved North Dakota. Impact and Achievements Unlimited Foundations are proud that Tom was one of our founding Board members instrumental in launching our organizations in 2004 and 2005. We always looked forward to his phone calls and attendance at our Board meetings. He was an engaging, knowledgeable, quick-witted person who always had a sparkle in his eye. He never felt comfortable resting on his laurels. If there was an innovative idea that could transform the future of our state in some way, he was standing at the front of the line to offer his help, and backed up that offer with hard work, determination, and a “never give up” attitude to successfully implement the idea. We would not be the entrepreneurial nonprofit organizations we are today without his inspiration, hard work, and dedication to our shared vision of leaving a lasting impact and reaching for unlimited achievements – two things he demonstrated masterfully.

A few years ago, we were fortunate enough to capture some of Tom’s thoughts in regard to his upbringing in North Dakota and the importance of giving back our time, talent, and treasure. We are honored to be able to share some of his thoughts with you on our GiveBack website. The greatest tribute we can pay to Tom’s legacy will be to continue to implement his vision of looking for and creating opportunities to “do good . . . better” for the people in our region. We invite you to view the video that has been compiled as a tribute to him and his lasting legacy.

We extend our sincere sympathy to the family that Tom so dearly loved. You truly will be missed, Tom – rest in peace and God Bless.
