In 2010, the Impact Institute developed a High Impact Board Training Program in partnership with La Piana Consulting and piloted the five seminar series in both Fargo and Bismarck. The goal of the program is to train board members to lead their organizations to produce superior results for the communities they serve.








Over 150 nonprofit board members attended these seminars in 2010:


1. Developing a High Impact Board
Learn about the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards, committee structures, board member recruiting strategies, effective board meeting management, and 
tools to lead your organization for high impact.


2. Becoming a High Impact Nonprofit
Explore the characteristics and practices of organizations that regularly rise above the norm to make a real and lasting difference in their communities.


3. The Road to Higher Impact: Design, Measurement & Evaluation
Determine the impact your organization wants to make and learn how to implement an effective DME (design, measurement and evaluation) cycle to gauge and report your results.


4. Fundamentals of High Impact Fundraising
Discover a five module development framework that has successfully helped nonprofits raise more money for their missions by building their case, attracting new donors, keeping donors, getting bigger gifts and securing planned gifts.


5. High Impact Practices: Promoting People & Nurturing Networks
Discuss best practices for sharing leadership, getting the right people on the bus, succession planning, and building and leveraging networks.
