Voicemail from Kent Bruun to Julie Haugen, Institute Director:
I want to thank you for the work you do.  I remember my roots, and anyone who has ever touched me in my entire life, and I am forever grateful to the many people that try to make me better.  You and your Institute have invested a lot of time and energy in me.  On Tuesday of this week I actually had an epiphany, and that day is probably the most rewarding day that I have had in my entire career. But it wouldn’t be without you and your commitment to training.  I want you to know how meaningful your work is and I need to recognize that – you are touching a lot of people. With our role, we are touched by a lot of people, so you are doing pay it forward work in a miraculous way.  Let’s say, without your tools I don’t think I could have the confidence to do the work that I’m doing.  I have a very different style, and it is probably not the norm, so without your training I don’t think a guy could do such professional work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart…keep up the good work!

The Impact Institute training that our staff has completed has helped take our Foundation to a new level of fundraising expertise. The MoD fundraising framework that we are implementing has helped us identify new donors and especially potential major gift prospects. We now have a fundraising plan and we are working that plan.

Training with the Impact Institute has expanded our view of traditional fundraising.  We have been given a framework and tools that we put to practical use every day.  It is well organized and structured so we see clear results, yet flexible enough for us to make the tools work for our specific organizational needs.  Thanks to the Impact Institute, we can more readily assess our donors’ need to give, and are creating opportunities for each donor to engage in a way that is meaningful to him or her.  We are grateful to have the resources of the Impact Institute available to us.
