Mission

The Prairie Learning Center Foundation exists to support the Prairie Learning Center in it's mission to help boys aged 13-18 examine their behavior and give them the supports and services to return to their families and communities as respectful, responsible young men.

Background

The Prairie Learning Center Foundation was formed solely to support the programs and services of the Prairie Learning Center. The Prairie Learning Center is a private, non-profit residential childcare center providing a 24-hour/7-day-a-week educational group living program to accommodate the needs of youth at-risk with educational, behavioral, deprived, unruly, delinquent and/or addiction problems in a structured environment. The Center is an alternative program to meet the needs of youth who require intensive education and counseling programs rather than the institutional role of traditional incarceration. Emphasis is placed on defining one's own concept of "Self," building self-esteem, and a positive self-image. Giving each young man an opportunity to not only meet but exceed their potential in their familiesand communities.

-Aftercare Services Arranged in the Community Following Discharge

-Independent Living Skills Program

-Vocational/Life Skills Training
-Wellness and Fitness Component
-Horsemanship Program
-Equine Assisted Programming
-Emergency Shelter Care Services
-On Site Individualized Educational Services Including Special Education
-Special Recreational Programming
