DONATION GUIDELINES - GIVING FUND, INDIVIDUAL/FAMILY FUNDS
LEND A HAND GIVING FUND
Contributions to the Lend A Hand Giving Fund expand the program's ability to help more families. Donations to the Giving Fund are tax-deductible and matched by Dakota Medical Foundation. 100% of gifts are distributed because Dakota Medical Foundation underwrites all costs to administer Lend A Hand.
When making a contribution to the Lend A Hand Giving Fund, donors have the option to:

Make an online contribution
To make an online contribution, enter your gift amount next to the Lend A Hand Giving Fund. A tax-deductible receipt will be sent immediately following the completion of the transaction.

Make a cash or check gift payable to DMF Lend A Hand
Cash/check donations payable to DMF Lend A Hand are matched and 100% is distributed to eligible families through the program.*

*Cash/check gifts payable to DMF Lend A Hand are matched and deposited into the Giving Fund for distribution to eligible families. Cash/check gifts may not be directed by the donor to a specific individual/family benefit fund. See below for more information about giving options to a specified individual/family fund.
INDIVIDUAL/FAMILY BENEFIT FUNDS
When making a contribution, donors have the option to:

Make an online contribution to a listed individual/family fund

Make a cash or check gift payable to an individual/family benefit fund located at a bank/credit union
Cash and check gifts must be made payable to the name of the Individual/Family Benefit Fund and directed to the bank/credit union managing that account. DMF Lend A Hand is not able to process cash or check gifts for individual/family benefit funds. DMF Lend A Hand seeks to maximize help for families, while minimizing time and costs associated with paperwork.

Generally, the IRS does not allow persons to deduct charitable gifts made to benefit specific individuals. If you made a contribution to an individual/family fund, please consult your tax professional
