Friends of the Fargo Public Library
Friends of the Fargo Public Library
Mission
Members of the Friends of the Fargo Public Library support the library with advocacy, fundraising, and volunteering.
Background
The Friends are volunteers who formed a non-profit organization, bringing together people who are interested in establishing a closer relationship between the Library and the public it serves.
Proceeds from the Friends’ fundraising activities activities are spent on items which improve and expand the services offered by the Library. Fundraising activities include used book sales at all three branches, book bag sales, and membership support. Over 90% of the money raised is given back to the library.
The Friends of the Fargo Public Library has a used book sale at each of the Fargo Public Library locations. Community members donate books to the Fargo Public Library. The books that are not used by the Fargo Public Library are then sold by the Friends of the Fargo Public Library at each of the Fargo Public Library locations: Main, Northport and Carlson.
