Background

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Bismarck supports programs that improve the lives of children and their families:

The Ronald McDonald House provides temporary housing, at little or no cost, for the families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at any of the Bismarck medical facilities.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a state of the art mobile dental clinic that provides oral health care to underserved children in thier own neighborhoods in western North Dakota. The Care Mobile will treat children ages 0-21 who do not have a regular dentist or who have not seen a dentist in the past two years. The priority service areas will be schools with 50% or greater of their students participating in the free or reduced fee lunch programs. While the majority of the children seen will be medicaid eligilbe, no child will be turned away for inability to pay. We anticipating serving between 800-1,000 children each year.
The RMHC Grant program awards a total of $26,250 in grants each September to other local 501(c)3 organiziations that directly benefit children with an emphasis on health care. These grants are funded by donations in the local McDonald's restaurants and are matched on a 1/1 basis with the national RMHC organization.
The RMHC Scholarship Program awards six $1,000 scholarships each spring to outstanding local graduating seniors planning to attend a college or techinical school the following fall who have exhibted exceptional academics, personal successes and commitment to their respective communities. The scholarship program is funded in the same way as the Grant program with funds being raised in McDonald's restaurants and matched by the national organization.
