Summary
Help New Americans Learn English using Rosetta Stone Software
Details

Overview
The four Rotary Clubs of Fargo-Moorhead are supporting non English speakers through providing public access to Rosetta Stone language learning software. Volunteers are needed at various locations in Fargo-Moorhead to help New Americans learn to use a computer and learn how to use the point and click Rosetta Stone program. The Rosetta Stone program works for any non-English speaker from any language.

Qualifications
If you speak English and have used a computer before, you are qualified. Patience in working with non-English speakers, many who haven't used computers before, is important.

Responsibilities
Sit side-by-side with a New American who is learning English. Help with teaching to use a mouse and microphone. Help navigate the point and click Rosetta Stone program, providing additional basic explanations and gestures to further assist in the teaching. Initiate basic conversations to practice the terms being learned through Rosetta Stone.

Volunteer Times / Days

These vary and are flexible, usually 1-2 hours at a time

Locations include Carl Ben Eielson Middle School, CHARISM, Fargo Public Library and others
